Juice Cleanses - Frequently Asked Questions
- THE CLEANSES
Cold pressing is the process that uses large amounts of pressure to extract nutrient-rich juice from fresh produce. It’s the greatest form of respect we can give our ingredients.
Heat is avoided during the juice extraction process as it destroys the nutrients in the produce.
This juicing process greatly reduces the levels of oxidation. The result is a juice that is fresh, nutrient dense, rich in color, and full of flavor.
We believe in 100%. Each bottle contains 100% raw fruits and vegetables, handcrafted with simple processes.
Most importantly, our juice is 100% delicious!
The juices should be consumed within 3 days. Our cold pressed juices are raw. They contain live enzymes, which results in a highly perishable product. Remember: always refrigerate your juices!
The freshest produce is the best produce. We’re constantly on the look out for produce in season. Our flavour lab is always experimenting and the juice range is always expanding. Let us know which your favourites are – we’ll try to keep them in the line-up.
A cleanse provides the nutrients we require to flush away the toxins we expose ourselves to. It also provides the body with all the fuel it needs to stay alert and give you a clean bill of health.
This is entirely up to you. A 5-day cleanse is meant for a deeper, intense cleanse, while a 1-day cleanse serves as a quick fix. If you’re new to cleansing, we recommend the 3-day cleanse.
Check your schedule. Plan ahead. Cleanse on days when your schedule allows for a little flexibility, and your routine is not excessively vigorous.
Listen to your body. Cleansing shouldn’t disrupt a regular person’s lifestyle but everyone reacts to a cleanse differently. Some might prefer to rest, while others get more energized and stay pumped throughout the day.
Don’t avoid workouts because sweating does help expel toxins from the body. Do lower intensity exercises such as swimming, Pilates, or walking.
Drink lots of water in between juices. If you’re in need of a caffeine rush, one cup of black coffee is fine (no more than that).
If you’re not fasting but committing yourself to a day of healthy nourishment, you may complement your juices with light clean foods. Think of simple, colourful salads, nuts, oats, quinoa, steamed vegetables and fruit. Avoid meats, processed foods, dairy and alcohol during your cleanse.
Please consult your doctor/physician/gynaecologist first. We can tell our vitamins apart but we are not qualified to dispense any medical advise.
Weight loss shouldn’t be the priority in your juice cleanse. Focus instead on resetting your body, flushing out toxins, and alkalizing your system.
The best way to prepare your body for a detox is through good hydration, regular meals and eliminating processed foods from your diet. Start by drinking lots of water 1-2 days before your cleanse. Also incorporate 4-5 servings of fruits and vegetables into your diet. It is also most effective to avoid drinks that cause dehydration such as - coffee, alcohol, soft drinks, energy drinks.
Congratulations! You’ve just given your body a reboot. Gear yourself for compliments coming your way. Your body has experienced a liquid diet, and underwent a lot of nourishment over the last few days. Focus on food with high water content such as cucumbers, celery, apples, melons, and berries to ease your body.
